Honeypots
Brief – Honeypots established a nursery school in Weybridge several years ago, their website in need of updating. They had also opened a second facility in nearby Walton-on-Thames.
A new website would support both and reflect the high standard of child care available. Both their locations are valued by parents, pupils and external regulators, such as Ofsted.
Parents of course book places but the site still needed a parent/child appeal. To reflect Honeypot’s understanding of a child’s view and the importance they place on stimulating children.
Technical & Search – Prominence in local organic search and on Google maps would bring business. A few historic issues were holding them back.
These were addressed within the rebuild and support given on Google maps entries. Although the owners took responsibility for written content, a few recommendations on this were welcomed.
An image rich website matched the requirements and would help visitors. Ensuring images were well optimised and adjustments to the galleries made sure pages were delivered at a fair speed.
Design & Build – The task was to design a site for adult customers, with a child focus. Solved with symbolism plus colour which would appeal widely and fit a growing brand name.
Their logo became the backdrop, with bees in ample supply. Images were used to give a clear impression of activity and care, with detailed image galleries supporting each location.
Potential clients would come through referral, or search, to a place they expected to be able to communicate. Device friendliness, font selection and text clarity were given much care.
Outcome – Viewers of all ages were pleased with the website. A good balance in terms of design and a place for parents to easily find information.
Improvements in search and wider business benefits followed. They mainly arise from the excellent care the website displays, although an up to date image is valuable in other ways.
